The WorldBeat Global Education Project is a project of the Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation. Financial assistance has been obtained from the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). SCSS -- The Saskatchewan Council of Social Sciences is the special subject council of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation. The Council liaises with government regarding curriculum development, while at the same time helping teachers in their professional development. Annual conventions, PD workshops, newsletters, and a quarterly journal help to create an environment of professionalism, innovation, and collegial sharing. The Council aims to recognize excellence, provide information, and create a network in which Social Science teachers can exchange ideas and strategies, thereby promoting the Social Sciences in Saskatchewan. http://www.stf.sk.ca/prof_growth/ssc/scss/scss.html SMYA--The Saskatchewan Middle Years Association is also a special subject council of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation. The SMYA advocates for appropriate educational practises for use with students in grades 6-9. The organization publishes a quarterly journal and newsletters, hosts an annual conference, and offers numerous professional development opportunities throughout the year.
